William A. Allen
William Allen is a fifth-generation Floridian who grew up in Kissimmee, Florida in the nineteen forties and fifties. He is now retired from Virginia Tech where he served in the Department of Entomology for fifteen years, before moving into administration. He retired in 1995 as Director of Virginia Cooperative Extension and Associate Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He has been involved in more than fifty scientific papers and reports, was awarded more than three million dollars in grants and pass-through funds, and had an active role in training Graduate Students in the Department of Entomology.
